A Report From The Front Lines In The War Between Catholics And Obama
A CINO (Catholic In Name Only) Democrat Ohio State Senator has become the latest abortion/gay “marriage” supporter to discover that the Catholic Church is serious about standing up for Her teachings about the sanctity of life and morality. Those who would trample on Catholic Church doctrine for their own selfish reasons will continue to learn this lesson. More…
Thursday, May 3, is an annual observance set aside by Congress as the National Day of Prayer. It is a day for Americans to seek God’s guidance and blessing upon America and its leaders. Bishop Says Obama on Hitlerian Path
Comparing Obama to Hitler is something that the liberal/left used to blame on the Tea Party. However, posters and signs showing Obama with a Hitler moustache were inevitably traced to followers of Lyndon LaRouche. They sometimes tried to portray themselves as conservatives, but in reality LaRouche is a former Marxist who ran for president as a Democrat. They like to cause deliberate political confusion.
Now that an educated Catholic Bishop with knowledge of history and a commitment to religious freedom has made the comparison, however, the national media cannot decide on how to respond. More…
On February 5, 2012 Father Sammie Maletta delivered a Homily at St. John the Evangelist Parish in St. John, Indiana. This Homily addressed how President Obama is threatening our Religious Freedom and declaring war with the Catholic Church. Please take a few moments to listen. No one sums it up quite like Father Maletta.

Barack Obama has no respect for you—neither does his wife.
They believe that government should tell you and your children where to live, how to live, what to eat, what you may see on the Internet, where you can work, who gets your paycheck, how to get to work—you get the point.
“Under the sweeping powers of Obamacare, the state has forced Catholic institutions to choose between their God and their government by demanding that they violate their own beliefs and provide birth control to their employees. Their insulting rationalization? Most Catholic women are bad Catholics and don’t follow the teachings of the church anyway. What’s more, the government has deified itself to determine which organizations are Catholic enough to be exempt. What’s next, mandated pork-chop night at the synagogues? Bacon should be a right.”
America may be the home of the brave, it is no longer the home of the free. Thank you Barack. More…
WASHINGTON — The White House is under fire from conservative groups Tuesday after a new report revealed it has close ties with a non-profit liberal watchdog group being paid to target religious broadcasters.
Media Matters of America bills itself as dedicated to “correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.”
In an investigative series exposing the group, the The Daily Caller news website found that Media Matters has significant influence within many major news organizations.
The Daily Caller also said “Media Matters has to a great extent achieved its central goal of influencing the national media.”
** Alex Pappas, reporter for the Daily Caller, worked on the investigative series on Media Matters. He talked about why the group would go after Christian broadcasters, on “The 700 Club,” Feb. 21.
Kerry Picket, editor of the Washington Times opinion blog, agreed.
“This story The Daily Caller put out, you have some sources inside Media Matters that have said that they practically wrote MSNBC’s prime time line-up,” Picket said. More…

‘It is a blow to a freedom that you have fought to defend and for which you have seen your buddies fall in battle,” read the letter from Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who leads the Roman Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services to the Catholic chaplains in the U.S. military.
The letter that the Army’s Office of the Chief of Chaplains kept from being read to Catholic soldiers concerned the recent Health and Human Services mandate requiring Catholic institutions to provide contraceptive services.
The letter was similar to others recently distributed by the Catholic bishops of the U.S. to be read from the pulpit in each parish. Bishops were allowed to tailor the letters for their particular audience.
That was what Archbishop Broglio did when he wrote the “blow to freedom” line above, adding: “The federal government, which claims to be ‘of, by, and for the people,’ has just dealt a heavy blow to almost a quarter of those people — the Catholic population — and to the millions more who are served by the Catholic faith.”
He included the pledge that “the Church cannot — and will not — comply with this unjust law.”
The Army’s Office of the Chief of Chaplains apparently was not amused and sent out its own letter forbidding Catholic chaplains from reading their archbishop’s communication to Catholic soldiers, in part because it was judged to encourage civil disobedience and could be read as seditious against the commander in chief.
Since when is passing on articles of faith to U.S. soldiers considered seditious? We hark back to the inattention paid by the Army that let Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan rise through the ranks undetected until the day he shot up Fort Hood shouting “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great) despite numerous warning signs.
Is the Army suggesting Catholic soldiers are being encouraged to do the same by opposing ObamaCare’s assault on the freedom of religion that these soldiers risk their lives to protect, or that they’re being incited by a real religion of peace to take arms against their government?

The White House will announce a retreat from its controversial rule requiring religious organizations like charities and hospitals to include contraception in their healthcare plans.
President Obama has come under heavy criticism from the Catholic Church and other religious organizations, Republicans, and even some Democrats over the issue, and Vice President Biden has suggested a compromise could be worked out.
A White House official on Friday confirmed an announcement on changing the rule would be made Friday. The White House is referring to the change as an accomodation.
It is unclear whether President Obama, who ducked questions on the issue on Thursday, will announce the change or comment on it in public. Read the story here.
My Catholic priest, Father Larry Swink, delivered a homily on Sunday that I told him would make headlines. In the toughest sermon I have ever heard from a pulpit, he attacked the Obama Administration as evil, even demonic, and warned of religious persecution ahead. What was also newsworthy about the sermon was that he cited The Washington Post in agreement—not on the subject of the Obama Administration being evil, but on the matter of its abridgment of the constitutional right to freedom of religion.
What is happening is extraordinary and unprecedented. The Catholic Church is in open revolt against the Obama Administration, with Fr. Swink noting from the pulpit that priests across the archdiocese were joining the call on Sunday to rally Catholics to resistance against the U.S. Government. He said we are entering a time of religious persecution and that Catholics and others will have to make a final decision about which side they are on.
The issue is what the Catholic Bishops have called a “literally unconscionable” edict by the Obama Administration demanding that sterilization, abortifacients and contraception be included in virtually all health plans. More…
“Conservatives may enjoy the problems this creates for Mr. Obama this election year. Still, for those who care about issues such as life and marriage and religious liberty that so roil our body politic, we ought to wish Catholic progressives well in their intra-liberal fight. For we shall never arrive at the consensus we hope for if we allow our politics to be divided between a party of faith and a party of animosity to faith.”
—William McGurn, Wall Street Journal, January 24, 2012
That quote up above from Bill McGurn is the kicker on his important piece about President Obama’s attempt to force Catholic organizations to pay for birth control. You should read the whole thing.
If you haven’t heard the story yet, here’s the short version: part of Obamacare mandates that all employers must provide “preventive” health care to workers. The president and his Health and Human Services Department have decided that this vague wording shall be interpreted to mean that all employers—even religious organizations such as the Catholic Church—must provide free contraceptives to their employees. There is to be no conscience exception. More…
Well, what do you know? The Supreme Court not only rebuffed another attack on our Constitution by Barack Obama’s minions, it did so in a unanimous decision.
Here’s what happened in Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church And School v. EEOC. The Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School hired Cheryl Perich as a teacher. Perich had completed religious training and was considered a minister by the school. Perich taught secular subjects and a religion class, led prayers and devotions, and attended chapel with her class. More…
